Ready to revel in beauty and history? Off you go on your private tour from Rome to Pompeii and Amalfi coast!
Meet your private Tour Leader, in charge of your comfort, enjoyment and well-being throughout the day, and set off aboard a private luxury vehicle, fully stocked with refreshments.
Once at Pompeii meet your private local guide and enter the site easily thanks to skip-the-line tickets. Completely destroyed in 79 A.D. due to the eruption of the Volcano Vesuvius, and exceptionally well-preserved because of the ashes, Pompeii offers a unique collection of perfectly maintained ruins and has provided experts and historians with enormous advantages in understanding the life of its inhabitants. Today, almost 2,000 years later, you will be able to visualize and imagine these people as you explore the ruins with your guide.
Admire the incredible ancient monuments accidently discovered in 1748, the magnificent amphitheater, the celebrated House of the Vettii, a once-luxurious townhouse with mysterious frescoes, the stately homes of the ancient Roman nobility, the taverns and restaurants, the striking artifacts and works of art, and the wide avenues of a lost world. Other highlights include the Basilica, the Palace of Justice, the Temple of Apollo, and the city’s ancient piazza and Forum, site of business dealings, elections and fabulous processions, as well as the Temple of Jupiter, the ancient food market, the bakery, the thermal baths and the Villa of Mysteries, a well-preserved ruin just outside the city walls.
After the visit set off for a memorable scenic ride along the cliffs of the Amalfi coast and down to Positano. Relax and lose yourself in the views: here mountains dive into the sea creating a dramatic vertical scene of dizzying cliffs crowned by verdant gardens, sweet-scented citrus fruit orchards and exquisite pastel-hued villages. Gaze at the exquisite landscape, tiny villages perched high above deep gorges, the deep blue sea rippled by gentle waves, luxuriant terraced cultivations dotted by typical buildings.
Reach Positano, a charming colorful town which used to be a fisherman’s village. Take a stroll along the pretty streets, see (and browse!) the boutiques and typical shops, filled with the town’s staple products: sandals, leather shoes, linen dresses and...limoncello!
Follow your guide to the best restaurant in town: your private tour from Rome to Pompeii and Amalfi coast includes an exquisite gourmet lunch, accompanied by excellent wine and local limoncello! After lunch, if you wish, you can take a walk down to the little beach and bask in the sun, and if you have children they might like to take a swim or play in the sand.
At the end of the day back on board, and travel back safely and comfortably.
