Gleaming mosaics, carefully crafted gold and silver objects, hand-decorated paper, leather goods… and much more! The ancient tradition of Florentine craftsmanship is deeply rooted in the city’s history, more more than in any other city in the world. Just imagine: from the 12th century onwards the Florentine craft guilds, the “Corporazioni di Arti e Mestieri”, dominated the city’s economic and social organization! Take an insider’s view of the local heritage, and talent, exploring Florence’s fascinating “botteghe”, small artisan workshops which produce unique and exceptional traditionally made goods. Meet your private guide and enjoy a stroll through the city center and evocative Oltrarno neighborhood to reach the most charming workshops. Enter the tiny shops, often hidden behind small doors and unassuming entr ances, meet the artisans and enjoy the rare privilege of admiring as they work. See the careful attention to each stitch, detail, movement, and note how many of the techniques and tools they use are the very same ones that have been used ever since the Renaissance! Led by your guide you will have the chance to discover 3 different workshops, generally including a hand-decorated paper artist, a goldsmith and a mosaic artist.
• Private guide at disposal for 3 hours
• Visit to 3 artisan workshops
• Walking tour of the city center
