Description

Carefully crafted to offer authentic insight on Tuscan lifestyle, art, history and gastronomic heritage, our signature private San Gimignano cooking class and Siena tour allows you to master the art of preparing a typical meal in a family kitchen, explore exquisite tower-studded San Gimignano and Siena’s evocative medieval city center enjoying the privilege of private transportation throughout the day and private guide assistance. Savor the ride and the views traveling to San Gimignano, UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most splendid examples of a medieval walled town, for a memorable hands-on culinary experience: a private cooking class held in the charming premises of a private family kitchen in a real Tuscan home! Aprons on, follow your teacher’s skilled instructions and learn how to prepare the simple mouth-watering Tuscan traditional recipes. Learn the tips and secrets of making crispy delicious bruschetta, fresh hand-rolled pasta or gnocchi, tasty pasta sauces and dessert, too. Measure, mince, mix and stir (and taste, of course, to get the seasonings right!), and finally relax, savor the unique taste of premium olive oil and the precious aromas of the family’s wines - Chianti Colli Senesi and local Vernaccia - and relish the best Tuscan meal ever: the one you made yourself in the heart of Tuscany!
After lunch enjoy some time at leisure and a stroll through delightful San Gimignano. Renowned as “the city of beautiful towers” it is certainly one of Tuscany’s most iconic, and one of the most well-preserved ancient towns in the whole of Italy and has, in fact, been used as a background in many movies. Walk through quaint cobblestone streets, discover the many tall towers, and browse the pretty shops lined by bottles of Vernaccia di San Gimignano, premium saffron, dainty hand-woven linens and precious hand-made Santa Fina pottery.
Then travel on to discover Siena, one of the most enchanting medieval cities in Italy. Meet your dedicated guide and set off on a memorable walking visit of this exquisite town. Unveil its secrets, learn all about its eventful centuries-old history and admire its characteristic architecture and warm colors. Learn about the town’s rich history, how it was founded by the Romans, became renowned in the Middle Ages when it declared its allegiance to the Ghibelline cause, and fought a long-lasting war against Florence which was traditionally Guelph. Led by your guide discover the major sights and landmarks among which Piazza del Campo - where twice a year dashing horses compete in the heart-rendering Palio race - with its gorgeous Palazzo Pubblico, and famed Torre del Mangia; unveil the town’s secrets and legends, wander down bewitching medieval streets and follow your guide into the magnificent Duomo, Siena’s awe-inspiring Cathedral, to admire world-acclaimed masterpieces.
